Frequently Asked Questions
by Nanny Candidates
What
are the requirements for being a nanny through Annie’s
Nannies?
To apply
with our agency, you must be 19 years of age or older
and a non-smoker. Most jobs require a vehicle. You
must have 1 year professional childcare experience
and at least 3 childcare references.
How
do I apply?
If you
meet the requirements listed above, call our office
at (206) 784-8462 or fill out our Online
Application. We will go through a brief screening
with you over the phone. We will then schedule an interview
time. At the interview, you will be asked to provide:
- A current Child-Care Resume
- Professional Child Care References (phone numbers
and/or letters of recommendation)
- Valid Driver’s License
- A recent photo
- Proof of CPR certification
(If you do not have CPR certification at the time of the interview, we will
provide you with information on how to obtain your CPR certification.)
We have an extensive written application and essay
questions that we require for qualified applicants.
The interview time is a chance for us to get to know
more about you, as well as for you to ask any questions
you might have about the process of finding a nanny
position. We will go over aspects of household employment
such as tax information, benefits, the interview process,
and how to negotiate salary.
Annie’s Nannies Household
Staffing will run an extensive background and driving check before placement
with a family.
What
types of positions are available?
We place
both permanent full time and part time jobs. These include
Nanny positions, Mother's Helper positions (one or both
parents in the home), Household Manager positions, and
Personal Assistant work.
We also have a temporary Nanny Service. Positions through
this Service last anywhere from one night to six months.
Often these jobs are for date nights, daytime replacement
for permanent Nannies, vacations, and overnights.
Is
a time commitment required?
Yes, we
require a one year minimum commitment for all permanent
positions. Depending on availability, we will often
take applications from Temporary Nannies who can make
a commitment to the Agency for at least six months.
Do
I sign a contract with a Family? Are benefits included?
Yes and
Yes! You will be given a Family/Nanny Agreement once
you are placed with a family. Our staff is here to help
you negotiate your salary, benefits, and other aspects
of your commitment to a family. While there are some
standards in all permanent nanny positions, some things,
such as health care, cell phone, and travel are negotiable.
We will help you every step of the way!
